| RANDALL
MACDONALD
Trained in the traditional arts, life drawing, perspective,
painting, color theory, "Something," Randall says,
"I think art school’s tend to overlook a bit now."
He has been a commercial artist, designer and Art Director
and currently Directs commercials and TV series.
I love digital painting / drawing and still discover
something new everyday, and practice at every opportunity.
I am amazed and still can’t understand the fascination
with 'speedpainting'.
People trying to do an image as fast as they can…why…?
When I see this I usually also see bad perspective, shoddy
painting and poor composition!
When you have finely tuned your skills (and that takes a long
time no matter how talented you are), then experiment with
'speedpainting'!
Influences
My main influences have been Francis Bacon, Michelangelo,
Vermeer.
